Split series galore! ECL S47 Roundup Day 1

Season 47 of North America's ESL Challenger League has officially kicked off, with every team playing on the first night splitting their series, effectively keeping an even tie in the table. Mythic and timbermen had a heater of a series as it took overtime for the former Badasses to win the first map before falling to the stream team in on the second one. One More got their first win as part of the new organization and Take Flyte's newest additions proving to be their best performers after the first day of matches.

Mythic [1-1] timbermen

It was a back-and-forth series for the two sides as timbermen were pushed to the brink against Mythic. The RMR-bound squad had to go into overtime on Vertigo to take down the streaming squad 16-13. Mythic were down 7-12 before rallying to bring it to OT, but that wasn't enough as timbermen shut them down. On Overpass, timbermen started out strong on their CT side by gaining a solid 7-5 lead but were unable to get anything going on their T-side as Mythic cruised to a solid 13-7 win.

Carpe Diem [1-1] FLUFFY AIMERS

Carpe Diem was without Colby "Walco" Walsh last night, however Jack "micro" Ryan was able to fill in. The series was once again split as FLUFFY AIMERS struck first on Vertigo in a game decided by their T-side. Israel "LEARSI" Vargas lead the way in the first half thanks to his 108.1 ADR effort resulting in an 8-4 first-half scoreline. The AIMERS would close out the map 13-7 before Jerric "wiz" Jiang and his teammates knew what hit him. It was all good in the end, though, as wiz got his revenge on Inferno. The former EG AWPer lead the way throughout the map as his team jumped out to a 7-1 lead and never let go as they responded with a 13-10 win.

Take Flyte [1-1] One More

Take Flyte came out soaring in their opening match of the new season as they utterly dominated One More in the organization's North American debut. Anubis was solidly in Take Flyte's hands as Gabriel "Gabe" Shah came out swinging in the first half T-side with 16 kills and a 1.79 HLTV Rating to his name. There was not much of a fight on the CT-side either for Take Flyte as Cory "shutout" Frymark helped seal the win. One More got their revenge on Vertigo as they took a close lead on their T-side before sealing away the map thanks to John "mds" Marin standout defensive performance.
