ryann shines as Triumph overcome paiN to win ESEA Summer Cash Cup 4
Triumph have claimed victory over paiN in the grand finals of the fourth ESEA Summer Cash Cup, securing a series win in two maps to take home the lion's share of the $4,000 prize pool.
It was a stellar showing from Ryan "ryann" Welsh that led the way for the ESL Pro League roster, although it did not seem like they would be the victors early into the series. What began as a 2-0 start for Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman and company quickly gave way to a strong T-side showing from paiN, with the Brazilian roster securing ten rounds in a row for a large lead.
ryann's 18 frags helped Triumph claw back into the half with three final rounds, but it was the AWP of Paytyn "junior" Johnson that reigned supreme following the side swap to get the North Americans back in the running. Rounds for paiN were few and far between as junior was the driving force in Triumph's comeback effort, posting a 17-2 K-D and a 2.20 rating on the offensive side of the map as they conceded only three rounds en route to a 16-13 map victory.
Triumph maintained momentum as their own pick of Inferno got underway, and this time it was Kaleb "moose" Jayne who stepped up to bat alongside ryann in a dominant T-side effort. 17 kills apiece for the two players and a 1vs4 clutch by moose aided Triumph in attaining a 12-3 scoreline by the break, a lead which they wasted little time in converting into a series victory as paiN only managed three additional rounds in the second half before Triumph took the win.
