Carpe Diem part ways with Wolffe after 10 days

Changes have come to Carpe Diem early in its second tenure.

Carpe Diem have parted ways with Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield just ten days after reforming their roster around the former Unjustified core. The move sees Wolffe leave his former Unjustified teammates after five months with the duo, while also concluding a fairly short-lived reunion with Colby "Walco" Walsh and Jerric "wiz" Jiang.

Wolffe's departure from Carpe Diem comes after an unfruitful revival of the tag in the short term, with Carpe Diem narrowly missing out on the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR and the IEM Chengdu Closed Qualifier. It was after these early slipups that the team decided to cut Wolffe, with the team's IGL, Walco, telling Dust2.us that there was a disconnect in mindset between Wolffe and his teammates that was unable to be bridged. This was echoed by Wolffe, who said they mutually parted ways after being unable to "put the pieces together" as a lineup.

With Wolffe out of the team, Carpe Diem are now on the lookout for a new fifth. However, due to needing three players from ESL Challenger League Season 46 to hold onto their spot in Season 47, the team will be fielding John "arcade" Rogel for the first eight matches of the season.

Carpe Diem are now:

  • United States Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich

  • United States Mason "Lake" Sanderson

  • Canada Colby "Walco" Walsh

  • United States Jerric "wiz" Jiang

  • United States John "arcade" Rogel (ECL stand-in)

ESL Challenger League Season 48 is set to start on February 13th.
