Take Flyte part ways with 3
Pennsylvania-based organization Take Flyte announced the departure of three members of their team on January 14th, seeing Justin "Sandman" Saulle, Chance "xaler" Palmer, and coach Drake "snakedrake" Silvestro exit the team after five months under the organization. The change to Take Flyte's squad comes after a tenth-place finish in ESL Challenger League Season 46, with the squad being eliminated by FLUFFY AIMERS after making the ten-team playoffs.
Outside of ECL, Take Flyte has seen moderate success, claiming a second-place finish at GG EZ Dallas 2023 and being competitive in online qualifiers and events. However, a failure to break into the upper echelon of domestic teams seems to be the main motivator of these moves, something echoed by Collin "CoJoMo" Moren in a comment to Dust2.us.
The team's AWPer told Dust2.us that the core elected to make changes due to a lack of success and improvement in the squad which led to a "dampened" team environment. As such, while the team enjoyed playing with Sandman and xaler, they are looking for more experienced names to try and be more successful in 2024.
This desire to be more successful immediately is driven by CoJoMo's revelation that this will be his final season of ECL for the immediate future as he is planning to spend a significant amount of time in Europe this year. CoJoMo said he is looking to spend at least 90 days in Europe; taking a break from competition to be a tourist and make connections after a long period of focus on the game.
With these changes, Take Flyte are now:
-
John "mds" Marin
-
Gabriel "Gabe" Shah
-
Collin "CoJoMo" Moren
Take Flyte will look to sort out their roster before ESL Challenger League Season 47 starts on February 13th.
