Liquid, NRG still in the hunt for IEM Chengdu

NRG did not have the best ending to the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR North American qualifiers, but they have immediately come back as they look to attend IEM Chengdu later this spring.

The first part of the first North American open qualifier began last night where some teams like LOS, Carpe Diem, and Limitless were eliminated in the Round of 16.

Others like Liquid, Wildcard, Party Astronauts, and NRG remain in the hunt as they look for one of two open qualifier entries into the Closed Qualifier where they will meet M80 and Boss for one single North American spot at IEM Chengdu. The winner of this event will get to join their countrymen Complexity at the Chinese event.

Liquid remains the favorites out of the remaining teams in this qualifier, with NRG and Wildcard right behind them. Wildcard and Liquid are the most high-profile matchup later this evening as the two sides meet in the quarter-finals. NRG is on the opposite side of the bracket, and should they win, will meet the winner of Party Astronauts v. Badass.
