Wildcard to play RMR CQ from Complexity HQ

Wonder what happens if they're on the same side of the bracket?

There is no rest over the holidays for the North American Counter-Strike community as the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR Open Qualifiers begin on January 8th with the Closed Qualifier to follow immediately after.

Teams are not able to get too much of a break as the first Major in close to a year begins with squads like Liquid, NRG, and others needing to go through the open qualifiers with minimal total practice.

Some teams, like Complexity and Wildcard, can directly skip those open qualifiers and head straight to the closed qualifier. This edition of the Major cycle will see only seven teams advancing from the North American Closed Qualifier to the Americas RMR, while previous iterations had eight teams. This is due to FURIA being the highest-ranked team in the Americas region, granting South America the eighth sub-regional invite with the Brazilian squad being the only one directly invited to the RMR.

Organizations like Wildcard are noting how important the Closed Qualifier is going to be for the region and have made accommodations for their team. Despite the uncertainty regarding Complexity at the moment, it is expected that the dominant American team will be at the Dallas Cowboys facility to play the event. Now, they will be joined by Wildcard who will travel to the Lone Star State.

In a tweet from Wildcard coach João "horvy" Horvath, he announced that the squad will be playing the event from Complexity's Headquarters and will arrive at the facility on January 3rd to prepare ahead of time.

Wildcard are one of eight teams directly invited to the Closed Qualifier and will be able to get ample practice in before their first match on January 12th.

Dust2.us will be broadcasting every round of the Open and Closed qualifiers in North America, starting on January 8th.
