Nigma Galaxy claim fourth ESL Impact Season LAN Final
On a very anti-climatic final day of ESL Impact Season 4 LAN Finals, Nigma Galaxy picked up their pace and cruised to a sixth LAN win, their fourth ESL Impact League trophy. The team looked completely different after a surprising first couple of games where they struggled to replicate their usual performances.
The semifinals saw Nigma Galaxy beating 9 Pandas Fearless easily in the first map and less comfortably during the second. On the other side of the bracket, NAVI Javelins beat Fluxo Demons 2-0 and confirmed a European grand final.
The final series of the event had Nigma Galaxy looking as strong as ever, giving away only a few rounds to a NAVI Javelins side that struggled to get going. Inferno set the pace of the series, with Nigma winning the first half 8-4 on the T-side and closing the map with a 5-2 CT-side half. The second map, Nuke, picked by NAVI Javelins, was even more one-sided as the first half ended with Nigma 12-0 ahead.
Despite the grand final result, Season 4 of ESL Impact can still be regarded as the most competitive to date, regionally and internationally. During the rest of the event, HSG fe and Fluxo Demons were able to take maps from Nigma Galaxy, and there were many close matches, some even needing multiple overtime.
Nigma Galaxy has now won four ESL Impact Seasons out of four, further cementing themselves as the queens of Counter-Strike.
