Evil Geniuses set to field former player for ECL playoffs
In what may be Evil Geniuses' final event in Counter-Strike 2, Dust2.us has confirmed that the team will field former EG player Jerric "wiz" Jiang as a stand-in for the ESL Challenger League Season 46 playoffs. The need for a stand-in for EG's swan song comes after Jadan "HexT" Postma was revealed as a part of NRG's return to Counter-Strike last night.
The return of wiz temporarily to Evil Geniuses' ranks sees the AWPer back in action after finding himself teamless after Wildcard acquired the core of Forsaken at the start of the month. wiz was sidelined in favor of Wildcard's homegrown AWPer Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan as the sole piece of their original lineup.
With EG, wiz should feel right at home as he has played with every single member of their current lineup, with the exception of Paytyn "junior" Johnson, on EG or EG Black. Speaking of junior, there is a potential for some role overlap for the two AWPers although wiz has played a hybrid role in the past.
Interestingly, EG also registered Saad "Pluto" Siraj as a substitute, however Dust2.us was unable to determine if he has any chance of playing.
EG will play the ECL S46 playoffs with the following lineup:
-
Timothy "autimatic" Ta
-
Colby "Walco" Walsh
-
Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott
-
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
-
Jerric "wiz" Jiang (Stand-in)
-
Tommy "Axed" Ryan (Coach)
Evil Geniuses opening series in ESL Challenger League Season 46 playoffs will be against Nouns on December 5th at 08:00PM.
