Report: leaf and Infinite set to join Cloud9's VALORANT team; Jonji to stand-in with Chaos
Dust2.us has learned from sources close to the project that Cloud9 are set to sign Nathan "leaf" Orf and Gage "Infinite" Green to their VALORANT team. Additionally, due to leaf's impending departure from Chaos, the team are set to field Bad News Bears player Jonathan "Jonji" Carey tonight against AA in ESEA MDL Season 34 with a decision set to be made on his future with the team.
The reported move comes less than a week after leaf officially joined Chaos on trial alongside Erick "Xeppaa" Bach in place of Cameron "cam" Kern and Hunter "SicK" Mims. The departure of leaf comes as a hard blow for Chaos as they have been consistently without a stable roster this year, changing seven players since January.
Infinite has been teamless since April 28th when Orgless decided to call it quits in the midst of ESL One: Road to Rio North America.
Interestingly, this isn't Infinite's first time being linked with a move to Cloud9 as the player was originally set to join the team in late 2018 as a stand-in for Maikil "Golden" Selim. The deal ultimately fell through after Cloud9 reportedly backed away from the move because of "community backlash over his previous behavior with past teams".
Cloud9's VALORANT roster should look as follows:
- Tyson "TenZ" Ngo
- Nathan "leaf" Orf
- Gage "Infinite" Green
Likewise, with leaf set to leave the team and Jonji standing-in against AA, Chaos will be fielding:
- Joshua "steel" Nissan
- Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
- Logan "Voltage" Long
- Erick "Xeppaa" Bach
- Jonathan "Jonji" Carey (Stand-in)
- Matthew "mCe" Elmore (Coach)
