M80 say farewell to WolfY
Late yesterday night, M80 announced that Adam "WolfY" Andersson is no longer part of the roster, opening the way to unveil Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich as the new AWPer of the team. This is the first roster move since the organization entered the Counter-Strike world.
WolfY joined M80 on July 15th, 2023, and has averaged a 1.06 rating as the AWPer of the team. Unfortunately for the North American player, the time spent in Europe showed a decline in his performance in comparison to his statistics against regional competition.
During the team's time in Europe, WolfY averaged a 0.90 rating, which is a huge downgrade to his 1.10 average before going and the 1.33 average he has boasted since returning to NA. This is yet another North American sniper without a home, after Jerric "wiz" Jiang was not included in Forsaken's move to Wildcard, and Josh "oSee" Ohm has been allowed by Liquid to explore his options and is close to signing with NRG. Paytyn "junior" Johnson is also on the verge of joining this list as Evil Geniuses is rumored to be dropping out of Counter-Strike.
Despite WolfY's newfound confidence, M80 believes a change is needed in the AWP department, and slaxz- will be the new holder of the big green, as reported by Dust2.us on November 10th. slaxz- comes directly from Germany, where he recently represented ALTERNATE aTTaX. After eleven months with the same organization, slaxz- comes to North America with a 1.20 average rating against European opposition.
It's still unknown what WolfY's next move is, as the 24-year-old is also a Swedish citizen and it would not be the first time that he flew back to Scandinavia to play with a Nordic squad, as he did during 2021 and 2022, when he represented Lyngby Vikings, ECSTATIC, Lilmix, and fnatic Rising, before coming back to America to represent ATK.
At the moment, M80's roster is:
-
Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen
-
Michael "Swisher" Schmid
-
Ethan "reck" Serrano
-
Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
-
Rory "dephh" Jackson (Coach)
