Perfect World announces Shanghai Major
After the end of the semifinal between FaZe and ENCE, which saw FaZe take the win and advance to the grand final of CS Asia Champions 2023, PGL and Perfect World confirmed that the second major of 2024 will be set in Shanghai, China. No dates were provided during the announcement.
On July 22nd, HLTV and Dust2 Brasil reported that PGL had partnered with Perfect World and was looking to host the second major of 2024 and CS2's life on Chinese soil. According to those reports, the second major of the year will be played between December 1st and December 15th, with its RMRs being hosted from October 26th until November 13th, which aligns with Valve's proposed dates for future Majors.
CS:GO never had an Asian Major, but CS2 will start off its life with its second major being played in Shanghai, one of the most populated cities in the world.
