Report: oSee, NRG in advanced talks over signing of AWPer
Sources have told Dust2.us that NRG are now in advanced stages of contract negotiations with Liquid AWPer Josh "oSee" Ohm. Last night Dust2.us reported that the organization was targeting the player as the key piece of the roster. Now, it is understood that talks are in a far more advanced state than first reported.
It is no secret that oSee's future in Counter-Strike was secure following his reliable performances while on Liquid. While the American has elected to go with NRG as his likely final destination, it's also understood that the player had several other offers, one of which includes an unnamed international roster.
The former Extra Salt starlet is expected to move on from Liquid where he spent the better part of the last two years. While the player was never formally moved to an inactive roster, his position as the primary AWPer in the squad is being taken by the expected incoming Casper "cadiaN" Møller.
Liquid are looking to revamp their entire roster following a disappointing European venture. cadiaN was surprisingly made available on the market, leading Liquid to pounce at the opportunity to not only grab a world-class IGL, but a top-tier AWPer. Unfortunately, the dual-threat player pushed out oSee, who is seen as America's best AWPer.
NRG are expected to continue pursuing several other players in the market as they continue their roster formation. NRG CEO Andy Miller confirmed yesterday that the organization was aiming to qualify for the upcoming 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major. The first qualifiers for that event begin January 8th.
Dust2.us reached out to both Liquid and NRG who declined to comment on the story.
