Report: Wildcard find their fifth
Dust2.us understands from multiple sources that Wildcard are set to complete their roster with the addition of South African former Extra Salt player Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek, who will leave Bad News Bears and return to professional play. The move comes after Sonic recently dipped his toes into the world of pro Counter-Strike with stand-in appearances with Complexity at Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2023 and the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023.
The past few days have seen a whirlwind of activity within Wildcard and Forsaken, as the former party quickly resolved to sign Forsaken's core to replace a team that had just returned from their European boot camp. Meanwhile, due to factors outside of the server Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and Matt "Warden" Dickens have had to work with the Wildcard organization to come up with replacements for Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and Jerric "wiz" Jiang, with the duo not making the grade for undisclosed reasons.
After a quick search, Wildcard have elected to retain the services of Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan from their previous lineup while Sonic is set to take over for cxzi in essence.
It is understood this new roster is set to be announced in short order, with Wildcard betting on this radical shuffle to take them to the next level after entering Counter-Strike in April.
The new Wildcard will consist of:
-
Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
-
Gage "Infinite" Green
-
Josh "JBa" Barutt
-
Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan
-
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
-
Matt "Warden" Dickens (Coach)
-
João "horvy" Horvath (Coach)
