cxzi not part of Wildcard-Forsaken project
Following Dust2.us' reporting that Wildcard were set to sign the Forsaken core in an overhaul of their roster, it is now known that Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk alongside Jerric "wiz" Jang will not be joining this new project. It is understood from sources close to the negotiations that the duo were not made aware of this decision, being left out of the loop with Wildcard entirely until very recently. Additionally, Dust2.us has learned that João "horvy" Horvath will be retained as a coach alongside Matt "Warden" Dickens.
The shock move for acquiring the Forsaken core comes immediately off the back of Wildcard's roster returning from Europe after a three-week bootcamp where the squad competed in a number of European events, with the team reportedly blindsided by the news of their replacement.
Wildcard's sudden decision to chop and change their lineup has come as a surprise to many as the two squads are currently neck-and-neck on both HLTV and Dust2.us' rankings for North America.
Likewise, while Forsaken are set to play in ESL Challenger League Season 47, Wildcard currently have a spot in Season 46 and are poised to make playoffs. Additionally, the team have a spot in the ESL Challenger Atlanta Closed Qualifier, where they will attempt to qualify for the $100k NA LAN.
The new Wildcard is known to consist of these elements:
-
Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
-
Gage "Infinite" Green
-
Josh "JBa" Barutt
-
Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan
-
Matt "Warden" Dickens (Coach)
-
João "horvy" Horvath (Coach)
