Complexity enter as the only team without a shakeup.

Complexity self-seeded third at BLAST Premier Fall Final

Some respect given by other teams.

Initial matchups for the BLAST Premier Fall Final in Copenhagen's Royal Arena have been released, with eight teams duking it out over a $425,000 prize pool and a spot at the BLAST Premier World Final later this year in Abu Dhabi. The opening matchups for BLAST Fall Final 2023 are:

Group A
FaZe vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
Cloud9 vs Natus Vincere

Group B
Vitality vs Denmark Heroic
United States Complexity vs Denmark Astralis

For those unaware of how seeding at BLAST events operates, the relevant part of BLAST's rulebook is as follows:

The eight (8) Teams shall independently rank the other Member Teams(excluding themselves) from #1 – #7, with #1 being the best (...) BLAST will calculate the average ranking of each Team in order to produce their seeding

With the format of the event following the standard seeding matchups, also laid out in the rulebook (shown below), we can determine with some educated guesswork how the teams ranked one another.

Match 1 (Group 1 - Seed 1 v Seed 8)
Match 2 (Group 1 - Seed 4 v Seed 5)
Match 3 (Group 2 - Seed 2 v Seed 7)
Match 4 (Group 2 - Seed 3 v Seed 6)

So then, it's likely that the self-seeding for the event cumulated in an average ranking of:

1st FaZe
2nd Vitality
3rd United States Complexity
4th/5th Cloud9
4th/5th NAVI
6th Denmark Heroic
7th Denmark Astralis
8th Ninjas in Pyjamas
