Liquid target skullz in rebuild
Amid news of Liquid removing their newest European additions, Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov and Robert "Patsi" Isyanov, and rumors swirling of potential replacements, Liquid have looked towards Brazil to reignite their roster with the addition of Felipe "skullz" Medeiros, according to a report by Dust2 Brasil.
skullz would join Liquid from paiN's active roster, where he has mightily impressed every since his addition just over a year ago. skullz has lit up the server ever since, posting a 1.17 rating on LAN with the squad despite multiple roster moves around him, including a change of IGL. While paiN has struggled to escape the perils of domestic competition, there have been a few bright moments for the team in which skullz was the main driving force. At the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR, skullz put together a magnificent 1.41 rating over seven maps to secure stickers for the organization. At ESL Pro League Season 17, skullz posted a 1.19 rating for the team in their playoff run, defeating Liquid on top of it all.
skullz has also reportedly been in talks with Fluxo, according to a report by Dust2 Brasil, who also say that the Brazilian's buyout can reach almost $600,000 and paiN are not willing to settle for much less than that full sum. This is due, in part, due to skullz's importance on the squad, with paiN falling from 13th in the world in April, arguably fighting for the title of best in the Americas, all the way to below 80th since losing Romeu "zevy" Rocco, Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato, and Wesley "hardzao" Lopes. Dust2 Brasil reports that Liquid paid close to that sum.
With skullz on the roster, Liquid would have an American core through Canadian Keith "NAF" Markovic, American Josh "oSee" Ohm, and Brazilian skullz, regardless of any other Europeans Liquid may add to the roster. This would allow Liquid to play in the Americas RMR for the Copenhagen Major early next year.
