Tsunami shows up to shore with new wave of players

The new squad is aiming for another ESEA Advanced playoff next season.

After a 6-6 record in ESEA Main Season 46, Tsunami is changing things up for Season 47. The team has parted ways with the previous squad after failing to win the last five games of league play, consequently out on Main playoffs.

The new squad has a lot of experience, with a couple of players having played previous Fragadelphia events, together and separately. For example, Ian "zeep" Lineaweaver and Walter "yuri" Lemmon played for Cyberstorm during Fragadelhpia 17 Chicago, and Jake "lect" Carreno and yuri played together for that same team during Fragadelphia 15. Joining these three are William "WetWillie" Blackwood, and Lucas "Luke4k" Mizumoto. The team will be coached by Aleks "abp" Papic.

More recently, the squad now acquired by Tsunami has competed in ESEA Advanced, even reaching the playoffs. The team lost to Electrify Steel, won against NoVum in the lower bracket, and then fell against would-be finalists ClayMakers. This is a great step up for the organization going from a Main roster to an Advanced squad able to reach playoffs.

Very recently, Tsunami announced the departure of its two academy teams, going from four total squads to just two, as the organization is also present in the ESL Impact scene with the Tsunami Sirens squad.

The new Tsunami lineup is:

  • United States Ian "zeep" Lineaweaver

  • United States Walter "yuri" Lemmon

  • United States Jake "lect" Carreno

  • United States William "WetWillie" Blackwood

  • United States Lucas "Luke4k" Mizumoto

  • Canada Aleks "abp" Papic (Coach)
