"Swole Identity" go official; Chaos to use FugLy for ESL One Rio Closed Qualifier
Skyler "Relyks" Weaver has announced the roster that has resulted between the merger of ESL Pro League Season 10 sides Swole Patrol and ex-Singularity/New Identity, which was initially reported yesterday by Dust2.us.
The move will hopefully bring at least a temporary end to periods of instability for both teams, not the least of which can be attributed to ESL's controversial decision to trim back the number of teams participating in EPL globally and eschewing Relegation.
"Swole Identity" are:
- Braxton "swag" Pierce
- Jason "neptune" Tran
- Jake "kaboose" McDonald
- Sebastian "seb" Bucki
- Skyler "Relyks" Weaver
- Daniel "fRoD" Montaner (Coach)
The team are currently set to participate in ESEA MDL Season 33, the ESL One Rio 2020 North America Closed Qualifier, and the FLASHPOINT North America Closed Qualifier. However, they have already been dealt a blow as Ze Pug Godz and Jason "neptune" Tran qualified to the former event minutes ago.
According to the ESL One Rio 2020 rulebook, this bars neptune from participating with another team during the current Major cycle, meaning that "Swole Identity" will need to find two stand-ins for the qualifier.
On the subject of the aforementioned qualifier, Jake "kaboose" McDonald has decided to not stand-in for Chaos' Josh "steel" Nissan. Instead, the team will utilize Jacob "FugLy" Medina, who has most recently appeared for Just For Fun/Orgless.
Chaos' roster for the ESL One Rio 2020 North America Closed Qualifier will be:
- Cameron "cam" Kern
- Ben "ben1337" Smith
- Owen "smooya" Butterfield
- Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
- Jacob "FugLy" Medina (Stand-in)
