Women's US Team goes 2-0 in first day of IESF World Championship
The day after the Men's US Team was eliminated from contention, the US Women's Team has started on much better footing. It all started in the opening match of the day when USA faced off against South Africa, a team comprised of a mix of ATK and White Rabbit Amaryllis players. The EG Gold and FlyQuest RED mix easily took down their opposition in just two maps with 16-9, 16-5 scorelines.
After getting a small rest during round two, the team then took on their second opponent, Team Brazil, in the third round. This was an even easier match for the American ladies as they took twelve rounds in the first halves of both Inferno and Mirage, cruising to another clean 2-0.
Four maps in and four maps the victor, Team USA are on an incredibly dominant roll so far. Tomorrow, they face the Netherlands and Hong Kong, the former of which is also undefeated, also not giving up double digits on any maps played. The game between the Netherlands and the US will definitely be one to watch, but hopefully, even in the event of a loss, a victory over Hong Kong should give our ladies the edge should their route to playoffs include tiebreakers.
The games tomorrow begin at 03:00AM
