Toxic player causes team to forfeit after match win
Yesterday marked the start of the open qualifiers for the North American ESL Impact Season 4 division. The first qualifier had nine teams sign-up, with everyone getting a bye in the first round except Gock Cobblers and Starfish.
It was after that opening series that some Gock Clobbers players, who had just won 2-0, decided not to continue playing with Jessica "PixelleParfaite" Pixelle, due to her reported toxic behavior during the series.
After winning the series against Starfish, Gock Clobbers had to play against Loot Goblins in the quarterfinals. The game that was originally scheduled to be played yesterday, and even had its maps decided twice, due to a FACEIT bug, was then rescheduled to today.
Although the game is still set to be played today, the result will most likely be a forfeit win to Loot Goblins, as three players refuse to play with PixelleParfaite, meaning Gock Clobbers don't have enough players to field on the server.
This series of events unraveled live, as close to 300 people were watching ParksCasts' stream, where Hailey "Hailey" Lee revealed the situation in real-time.
Parks and Hailey were live and were waiting for the game when Hailey got told about the situation and, after some time trying not to disclose details, she was apparently given permission to tell the full story.
Today's game, should Gock Clobbers forfeit, will be just between FLUFFY AIMERS White and Karma, as the other semifinal is scheduled to be played tomorrow, but it's not unlikely that it gets moved to today, given the situation. The winners of the semifinals claim a spot in the North American division.
