FURIA and FalleN fail to qualify once more

FURIA eliminated in second IEM Sydney qualifier

The Brazilians fell on the first day of the qualifier.

FURIA once again stumbled in the IEM Sydney 2023 qualifier, this time not even making it to the second day. The Brazilians have continued to struggle since the additions of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes, the former signing with the squad for a reported $700,000 buyout fee from Imperial.

Andrei "arT" Piovezan's men have failed to find their winning ways in recent times as they exited IEM Cologne 2023 at the hands of TheMongolz during the Play-In, and more recently fell to 500 at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 Europe Series 1 and against Sprout in the first IEM Sydney 2023 European Open Qualifier.

FURIA faced little opposition in their first few games, facing off against teams like "Online Rats" where arT decided to utilize the autosniper for several rounds. They also played against The Suspect and Activit, all of which were easy games.

knasigTs were coming on a hot streak, having defeated the rumored TSM team earlier in the qualifier. They would pose quite a challenge to the Brazilians on their CT-side as they mounted a miraculous 11-4 comeback to take the lead 15-12 at one point. While FURIA would eventually force an overtime, they were unable to convert and lost 19-17.

FURIA will look ahead towards Gamers8 next, with many hoping that their fortunes turn around soon.
