m1cks joins Cloud9 as assistant coach
After parting ways with eUnited back in October, Joshua "m1cks" Micks has found a new home for 2020, signing with Cloud9 as their assistant coach. He is also set to move to Los Angeles to be in close proximity with the team, although he will not be living in the Cloud9 team house.
This isn't m1cks' first outing with the American-South African team, having initially worked with Bravado as the team's analyst all the way back in August 2018 before moving onto Spacestation for a short-lived period as their trial coach. Not long after the end of his time with Spacestation, m1cks spent a month working with Rogue before the organization ultimately dropped their CS:GO team and exited the scene.
More recently, m1cks also worked with the team while they were still under the ATK banner, assisting the team in Los Angeles during the second stage of EPL Season 10. Dust2.us knows that m1cks was also considering offers to become the head coach of another North American organization before ultimately deciding to work with Cloud9.
With the addition of m1cks, Cloud9 are now:
- Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
- Ian "motm" Hardy
- Josh "oSee" Ohm
- Ricky "floppy" Kemery
- Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
- Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (Coach)
- Joshua "m1cks" Micks (Assistant Coach)
- Tyson "TenZ" Ngo (Streamer)
- Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas (Inactive)
m1cks' skills will be put to the test as he helps the new Cloud9 prepare for upcoming appearances at DreamHack Open Leipzig on January 24th and IEM Katowice on February 25th.
