isak is all smiles after a tight 2-1 series victory

isak: "We can still do great things"

The Swedish rifler has high hopes for the next era of his team.

Dust2.us' coverage of the IEM Cologne rolls on following an intense 2-1 GamerLegion win over fnatic, with a conversation between GamerLegion's Isak "isak" Fahlén and Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore. The two discussed the long-winded victory, the new-look GamerLegion, what he thinks of his new IGL, and much more.

Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.

I'm here with isak, coming off of an absolute marathon magic against fnatic. You've been playing for what feels like four or five hours, how are you feeling right now?

It feels very nice. I'm a bit exhausted, but I would say I'm pretty used to these games. In the past LANs, we've had these long games so I'm starting to get used to it but you're always exhausted after a great match.

I think a lot of people would be surprised to see GamerLegion have made it this far because the narrative is focused so much on siuhy and iM leaving the team and people don’t really put much consideration into the three pieces that remained. Do you think people were wrong to think the team would crumble without those two pieces?

It was definitely two steps back but we still have the core. We still have the strong core I would say and we can still do great things. We just have to go step by step and get back into form.

You've brought in neaLan who has brought in a completely new system. How has his leadership of the team has differed in the early days compared to siuhy?

I would say his leadership is good, we just have to get used to it more and work more on it since we haven't gotten that much prep on all the maps. We have our base ground on what to do on maps and stuff like that but we just need to go more in-depth and I think then we will be a much stronger team.
