MIBR leaves North America for Europe
In a press release, the organization revealed that it is leaving North America for good. MIBR has been in the region since it was bought by Immortals in 2018, and after five years the Brazilians are moving their base of operations to Europe.
The team wants to stay in Europe for as long as possible, only competing in South American events "when possible." The team's coach, Bruno "BIT" Lima, listed "greater goals [and] better quality of life" when explaining the change in the press release.
Just a couple of days after Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu and Bobby "stamina" Eitrem engaged in a lively Twitter debate about Brazilian teams wanting more spots for South America, the level of competitiveness in the North American region, and many large organizations leaving the NA Counter-Strike scene.
MIBR joins FURIA on the recent exodus from NA to Europe, seeing the Brazilian organizations opening headquarters on the European continent. Imperial has also left the region to go back to Brazil until the release of CS2 while LOS is currently weighing their options following the collapse of their previous roster.
MIBR has been in Europe for a while now, as recently the Brazilians lost to Evil Geniuses during the CCT North Europe Series 6 and will compete in the CCT 2023 Online Finals 2 alongside the North American Nouns squad.
This move from MIBR adds to the discussion about the level of competitiveness and the number of spots North America and South America should have going forward, as, once again, NA is the region that loses the most with the departure of the Brazilian squad.
