Former Cloud9 coach trialing with Complexity
Complexity debuted on the right foot with a 2-1 series victory over NIP. Following the three-map win at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, general manager Graham "messioso" Pitt announced in a tweet that the organization was trialing former Cloud9 and Ghost coach James "JamezIRL" Macaulay as a part of their coaching staff, marking a return to the game following nearly a three-year absence to join tenured coach Tiaan "T.c." Coertzen at the helm.
JamezIRL has extensive experience inside of North American Counter-Strike, with his resume beginning as early as 2015 as an analyst with Cloud9. With Ghost, he was the coach behind the core of Joshua "steel" Nissan, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, and Matthew "WARDELL" Yu that would stay together until the organization’s dissolution.
After Ghost, JamezIRL enjoyed a brief stint once again with Cloud9, where he coached the very short-lived lineup that included current Evil Geniuses star Timothy "autimatic" Ta and Liquid coach Damien "daps" Steele.
Shortly after exiting the role as a coach in CS, JamezIRL entered the world of VALORANT in 2020 in the same role with the same org. After almost three years away, he has returned to his game of origin to a win.
With JamezIRL trialing, the Complexity roster looks like:
-
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
-
Ricky "floppy" Kemery
-
Michael "Grim" Wince
-
Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli
-
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablanowksi
-
Tiaan "T.c." Coertzen (Head coach)
-
James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (Trial Assistant Coach)
Complexity will look to continue their momentum against Major winners Vitality in the Group A upper bracket game.
