Reason Gaming returns to Counter-Strike
The historical esports brand Reason Gaming has found it's way back into the professional Counter-Strike scene with the signing of North American squad No Impact, who currently compete in ESEA Advanced.
Reason has a long history in CS:GO, with their first Major appearance coming at DreamHack 2013 Winter with a Danish roster headlined by Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen. The squad would finish 9th-12th, taking home a share of $2,000. The organization would once again feature at EMS One Katowice 2014 where MSL again headlined a strong squad, but would unfortunately not find any greater success.
Since then, Reason would not make another Major and would only find relative success with British rosters, competing in regional events. Now, it appears that the organization is looking to move beyond the British Isles as they have signed No Impact, a North American roster currently competing in ESEA Advanced.
The roster, featuring 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR participant Walker "walker" Harris, is considered one of the stronger amateur North American squads and missed out on promotion to ESL Challenger League Season 46 after falling in the ESL Challenger League Season 45 Relegation.
Reason stated in the announcement that they "have spoken to a number of potential line-ups about reviving" the brand and while they came "very close to signing" a number of rosters, nothing ultimately came of it. This will be the first time they have ventured into North America in Counter-Strike and clearly have an eye on the arrival of Counter-Strike 2.
Reason's lineup is:
-
Walker “walker” Harris
-
Brody “BeaKie” Kelly
-
Brennan “grape” Greer
-
Keanu “Danejoris” Reyes
-
Johnny “JDubs” Wu
