zews reportedly out at Fluxo
According to a report by Gabriel Pumba of Dust2 Brasil, Wilton "zews" Prado is set to leave Fluxo after six months, and will be replaced in the head coach role by Argentine assistant coach Joaquin "lokomotioN" Cuevas.
This isn't the only change in the ever-shifting sands of the Brazilian scene, however, as Dust2 Brasil also revealed that Fluxo have shifted away from paiN's benched Wesley "hardzao" Lopes and are now practicing with Henrique "t9rnay" Menacho in his place.
Dust2 Brasil did not specify why zews is out at Fluxo, however the reported move marks an underwhelming finish to zews' second tenure with a team after coming out of retirement in September 2022. While Fluxo managed to qualify to the BLAST.tv Paris Major in May, they have otherwise been a footnote in the annals of international CS.
Fluxo's 2023 campaign thus far has seen them fail to notch a single win against European or North American teams, a hard fact to swallow after the organization has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into the team. Interestingly, Dust2 Brasil's reporting also suggests promoting lokomotioN was always "Plan A" as the team has been assembling their new squad.
The other change to Fluxo's new roster is t9rnay, whom is currently up for sale on RED Canids. The 21-year-old player is reportedly set to be bought out by Fluxo for around $40,000, according to Draft5. While hardzao is undoubtably the more experienced choice, t9rnay is viewed as an upcomer in the Brazilian scene and currently boasts a 1.18 rating over 125 maps in 2023.
Fluxo are now expected to be:
-
Vinicius "vsm" Moreira
-
Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves
-
Vinícios "PKL" Coelho
-
Romeu "zevy" Rocco
-
Henrique "t9rnay" Menacho
-
Joaquin "lokomotioN" Cuevas (Coach)
