New and unique changes from the latest CS2 update

Valve dropped their second update to CS2 since the initial Limited Test launch back in March.

In classic Valve fashion, the publisher dropped an unexpected Counter-Strike update late on Tuesday night. The first Major update to the latest iteration in the CS franchise, Mirage replaced Dust2, the buy menu was overhauled, and updated loadout selection were the headline changes to CS2 yesterday. With that being said, here are some interesting tidbits and changes that may have gone under your radar.

Dinner is served

In CS:GO, when a chicken stumbled into the line of fire the poor poultry would explode with feathers flying everywhere. The same death animation for the chicken would ensue when contact was made with any of the grenades. Following the update, the fate of the chicken, when it comes into contact with a Molotov, results in the bird being cooked into a nice Sunday dinner. Don't forget to bring the gravy!

The FAMAS sounds... different?

Another change that went under the radar with this new update is the changed sound of everyone's least favorite rifle. In the initial launch of CS2's Limited test, some guns such as the AK-47 and Glock-18 recieved updates to the sound patterns, but at the time the FAMAS remained the same. With this change at a later date, we can perhaps expect further changes to weapon changes as more updates come through.

Connector is certainly more difficult

Anyone who plays in the divider that separates mid and A-site on the most polarizing map in the pool, prepare to adapt your gameplan. Typically CT defenders who play this spot will bounce a smoke off the catwalk wall, giving them a one way which they can hold top mid from. With the new volumetric smokes, the old lineup for the smoke now means that the one-way no longer exists. Players will have to get creative now and use a new version of the smoke to help out the mid players.

Making matters even worse for connector players, Josiah "JoJo" Jimenez figured out it is possible to wallbang the unsuspecting defender from chair. Depending on the angle that you choose to wallbang, you can even kill the jungle AWPer if he has rotated into the top of connector to try and defend middle.

AWPers lose pixel-perfect angle

Renowned caster James Bardolph was eagle-eyed to catch this new angle. If you are anchoring B with an AWP, you can catch very early information for your team if you jump up onto the balcony and hold into deep apps with the double scope. You will have to be lightning fast to hit the shot on the oncoming attackers!

Cancelled game for cheating

A major gripe that people have had for years with CS is the abundant amount of cheaters that make it through the VAC anti-cheat. We have all been there. You load up a matchmaking game of Dust2 with your friends only to lose 16-0 to a spin bot player who is blatant with his cheats. With the new live VAC banning, that game of matchmaking will be automatically terminated mid-game if the person is caught cheating, so you won't have to stalk the offending party's profile every day to see if he has been caught.
