ex-Naventic win Dust2.us Open #2
28 teams fought it out today in the Dust2.us Open #2, with hopes of making it through the bracket to claim a coveted spot in the $1,500 Dust2.us Masters.
Several MDL teams were present, including Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir's Swole Patrol (featuring Ryan "ryan" Welsh), the new-look Bushido Boys, Iceberg and ex-Naventic. Other interesting teams included Heaven's Devils, who put in a strong showing last week, Hyper, FHAK (nahtE, XotiC, bENITA, PRDTR, tropiiical) and JOBD (Strong Legs, gMd, cp2, Winsum, crazylegs).
The grand final saw the Americans from ex-Naventic taking on the Swedes of Tempo Storm. In the course of moving through the bracket, both teams had taken down notable scalps, with Bushido Boyz for Tempo Storm, and the FAHK mix featuring Ethan "nahtE" Arnold for ex-Naventic.
ex-Naventic began Mirage on the CT-side, but it was the Swedes who took the upper hand, ending the half leading 10-5. Not to be outdone, the Americans fought back valiantly, ultimately putting the Swedes on the backfoot and bringing the match to overtime.
In the first half of OT, ex-Naventic were able to secure two rounds on the back of strong play from captain and in-game leader Dan "impsta" Whelan. Switching over to the second half, the Americans secured another two clinical rounds to bring the match over the line, and secure their berth in the Dust2.us Masters.
