1776 rematch on the cards for Liquid

Nobody truly expected for Liquid to be in this position after a Day 1 that saw them fall to Monte and Apeks in the Challengers Stage. Even more so, the terrifying close win over Fluxo was not a vote of confidence in the team considering the skill gap between the two sides. However, wins over Complexity and Grayhound propelled the team to victories over 9INE and NAVI.

While the team failed to convert a few crucial rounds against Heroic on the decider map of their qualification match today, they are closer than ever before to walking into the Accor Arena as Legends. Thanks to the loss against Heroic and FURIA losing to G2 earlier today, Liquid and the North American continent will be facing familiar foes in the British team, Into the Breach.

Now, while Liquid and Into the Breach are actually not familiar foes at all - they've literally never played, the American v. British battle is a comical matchup considering the history of the Monarchy and its former colonies. Surely during the next round, we will see ample comments from the casters regarding the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 as the two sides battle it out.

This will be Liquid's second qualification match, and one that the squad should come away as the winner. The squad's impressive rise to dominance so far at this stage is underpinned by a change in team attitude and approach to the communication and cohesion of the group. With Liquid seeing Josh "oSee" Ohm become a vocal leader, so have they seen their fortunes rise.

Liquid will be facing off against Into the Breach tomorrow at 01:30PM according to the schedule, but times may vary depending on the previous games.
