Luminosity win first EPICENTER Americas Qualifier
After the first day of play was over, the field was narrowed down to eight teams, most notably featuring NRG, Luminosity, Tempo Storm SE, and Swole Patrol. Due to the seeding of the bracket, the two Pro League sides wound up meeting in the semi-finals. Damian "daps" Steele's men were able take Train on the back of a strong performance from Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, but the Brazilians came roaring back with a close win on Cobblestone and a 16-1 drubbing on Cache, in which Gustavo "yeL" Knittel died only thrice.
This set the stage before a finals match between Luminosity and Ryan "fREAKAZOiD" Abadir's Swole Patrol mix. Despite strong showings from Abadir himself and Denial's Dylan "RIKO" Arnce, the American mix fell to Luminosity in two straight maps.
There is still one more spot up for grabs, in another qualifier next weekend. The six invited sides to the Closed Qualifier are not publicly known at this point.
