ECS Development League Season 4 Week One Recap
The ECS Development League returns, kicking off with a week where every team got in at least one game. We’ll kick off the list with the two teams at the top of the pile at the end of the week.
compLexity, Tempo Storm
Kicking it off at the top is compLexity, who thought it was best to get all their matches done and dusted in week one. Managing to remain unbeaten throughout, securing three wins and four draws. The wins came against what could be determined as weaker sides in the competition, taking the 2-0’s against RONIN, FRENCH CANADIANS and Denial eSports. Their draws were possibly more interesting, outside of the traded blow-outs with Rise Nation, coL traded two close matches with Tempo Storm as well as an overtime loss to Splyce. There’s slow but steady improvements from the coL side after bringing in veteran ptr, but do have a lot to fix if they want to break back into the top of NA.
The Brazilians of Tempo Storm kicked off their season with two games in this week, combining the aforementioned draw with a solid 2-0 win over Misfits a day later allowed them to successfully prop themselves into the second qualification spot at the end of the week. This being Tempo Storm’s only online league appearance for now, they’ll need to focus a lot of time on making sure they’re in the main ECS league by the end of play.
Denial, Splyce, Misfits, Rise Nation
Moving into the middle of the table, most here are positioned mostly due to only playing once or twice in the week. Misfits have played the most out of this group, and unfortunately not performed as well as they’d hope. The squad led by seangares would’ve been pegged as favourites for qualification from the division, but lacking a win after three games have hurt their chances. Splyce were the only other side to take up arms against Misfits, where once again two fairly close maps were traded for a draw.
Denial are on top of the middle pile even after their loss against coL, their win against RONIN helped out by the lesser performances of the other teams keep them in touching distance of one of the ECS promotion spots. Rise Nation only played one game this week, taking a single point from coL.
FRENCH CANADIANS, RONIN
The bottom of the league sees two of the qualifier teams propping the base up. RONIN faced off against two sides, failing to make much ground in any of the maps played to attempt a promotions run. FRENCH CANADIANS also only had one game in the first week, where only a strong win from compLexity met them. A lot of work is required from the two teams to attempt a revival and gather points to keep them away from the bottom.
With coL completely done with the league now, it’s up to the rest of the teams to knock the team off the top of the pile. Can Tempo Storm keep their qualification place or will Misfits pick themselves up and make a run for the higher league? Keep an eye on dust2.us for more updates over the coming weeks.
