Bwills on MarKE: "It was a little surprising when he reached out and was interested in joining"
Nouns have made a number of changes to their roster since they made the previous RMR for IEM Rio. One of the two players that have remained with the organization in the time that has elapsed since is Brendan "Bwills" Williams. Back in Stockholm, the 21-year-old struggled to make an impact with a 0.98 rating for the event but in Mexico, Bwills has been performing fantastically. With a 1.15 rating thus far, Bwills and Nouns are on the cusp of making the Major, with just one goliath standing in their way: Liquid.
The other player that has remained with Nouns since the last Major cycle is David "cynic" Polster. In-game leading and AWPing at the same time is a notoriously difficult combination, but the 23-year-old has been making it work, regardless of which iteration of the roster he is calling for. Having raw skill is only half the battle however...
I think it all comes down to his work ethic and just how long we have been playing the game. Me and him, we played in I don't even know how many teams at this point, for about 3+ years at this point on and off. I give it all to him, he has incredible work ethic, he's always watching demos, he's always bringing new shit to practice so yeah all credit to him because he is a hard worker for sure.
One player who hasn't competed in a Major cycle for quite some time is the latest player to have joined Nouns, Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado. Linking up with Nouns in February, MarKE has been playing some lights-out Counter-Strike, with not even the slightest sign of ring rust after being away from competition for over a year. Replacing Bobby "stamina" Eitrem, it appears to have been a seamless effort to embed the Mexican, despite some tweaks to positions being required.
MarKE has definitely slotted in some roles, some roles I have actually switched up a bit but I mean MarKE has been a phenomenal player for us recently in the last two months that we've had him. It was a little surprising when he reached out and was interested in joining.
Nouns will be hoping that not only MarKE, but all five of their players will be on their A-game and firing on all cylinders today if they want to take down the beast that is Liquid. The do-or-die clash for a spot in Paris is set to kick off at 07:30PM tonight.
