COL's stars align: Complexity vs Imperial
The slump was looking to be enough to take Complexity out of Pro League after the initial 1-16 loss on Inferno. After starting 0-1 in an alarming fashion, Complexity rerouted themselves, made great adjustments, and completed the comeback against a surging veteran AWP to stay alive in EPL.
Water off a duck's back
After being manhandled on Imperial's pick of Inferno, Complexity showed great composure against their opposition with razor-thin wins over the next two maps to complete the reverse sweep. A Complexity lineup that had been slumping being able to come back in that fashion against a Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo-led team offers optimism toward the team's prospects moving forward. Maintaining composure after a blowout loss to overcome a red-hot FalleN might be what they need to relight the fire, meaning a come-up in form after a slow start to Pro League.
Ice in their veins
One of the major leveraging factors for Complexity in their path to victory was clutches. Multiple players in the lineup had highlight clutches across Ancient and Overpass in a variety of ways. 1v1s, 1v2s, 1v4s, and OT clutches were pivotal for Complexity to fight through the adversity and secure the 16-14 and 25-23 wins across Ancient and Overpass respectively.
Too many weapons for the legend
Star AWPer Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli ran wild over the course of the final two maps, serving as the main catalyst for Complexity's comeback against Imperial. Despite the surge after the 0-1 start, Imperial refused to go down without a fight, especially FalleN. FalleN was the only person keeping his team alive in the final stretches of the game. Fortunately for NA fans, hallzerk coming alive gave Complexity the energy they needed in the championship rounds. With the two teams hitting OT to decide a series winner, hallzerk's teammates answered the call with multiple clutches and an overall spike in performance to wash away FalleN's incredible efforts.
What’s next?
After eliminating Imperial, Complexity will continue their fight for survival tomorrow in the 6th-8th place match against BIG in a do-or-die setting. This matchup has an extra layer of rivalry, as Complexity will seek to enact revenge against BIG following their 1-2 loss to them just three days ago in Pro League.
