Former Fnatic player to stand-in for Vendetta today

The Swedish player answered a last-minute call to stand in for Vendetta in the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier.

In today's IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier, Vendetta are set to field Swedish former Fnatic player Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson in place of Kevin "consti" Yi. The latter player is set to miss the qualifier due to personal circumstances that leave him unable to compete with the team in the short term.

Surprisingly, this is not Jackinho's first engagement with an NA team, having previously played the third ESEA North American Cash Cup two weeks ago alongside the yur core and fellow Swede Adam "WolfY" Andersson. Unfortunately, however, Jackinho will be playing for Sweden which will give him a major ping disadvantage.

Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk told Dust2.us that the team elected to field Jackinho after asking an American player to stand-in for them. However, due to the ESL Pro Tour roster rules, the player turned them down for fears of it impacting their own prospects.

For the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier, Vendetta will play with:

  • United States Andrew "Tender" Cote

  • United States Connor "chop" Sullivan

  • United States Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk

  • United States Silas "silas" Marrufo

  • Sweden Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson (Stand-in)

The IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier is set to start today at Today 05:30PM.
