Vendetta round out IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier

Without breaking a sweat, Vendetta march on to the next qualifier.

The second IEM Dallas Open Qualifier has come to a close, with Vendetta securing the final available spot in the closed qualifier after annihilating Limitless in a quick two-map affair. This victory sees Vendetta joining up with oNe, Nouns, and Strife in the closed qualifier, where the four squads will each be vying for one spot at IEM Dallas in May.

After falling to oNe in the finals of the first open qualifier, Vendetta was arguably the top candidate to secure the final available spot. The first challenge the ECL side faced was in the form of Take Flyte in the semifinals of this qualifier, with Umar "Umar" Qaiser's men breaching double-digit rounds on Inferno before Vendetta closed out the match.

Although Vendetta's opponent in the final, Limitless, handily took care of timbermen in the opposite semifinal, the Advanced side was unable to unlock that same performance in the final. Limitless' pick of Overpass was immediately taken over by Vendetta, who racked up seven rounds straight before Limitless could even respond with one of their own. In the end, Vendetta procured a dominant 13-2 half, which they quickly converted into a 16-2 victory after snagging the second pistol round.

Vendetta's pick of Nuke got off in a similar fashion, with Vendetta once again claiming seven rounds in a row before Limitless managed a retort. This time, Limitless whittled away one more round, but a 12-3 lead for Vendetta heading into their CT-side looked nearly insurmountable. Unfortunately for Limitless looks did not deceive, as a pistol round victory in the second half allowed Vendetta to quickly wrap up the map 16-4 to claim their place in the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier.

With Vendetta taking the final spot, the four teams in the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier are:

Brazil oNe
United States Nouns

United States Vendetta
United States Strife

Vendetta will have to hope that they can keep this momentum up as they have no time to rest before the double-elimination closed qualifier kicks off later today at 05:30PM.
