floppy: "I just think we need to show some balls"

Complexity and Imperial faced off in a rematch off the elimination decider at the IEM Rio Americas RMR, that day it was the Brazilian side who came out on top of a marathon series today it was the NA side that took home the victory. Complexity coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen and rifler Ricky "floppy" Kemery joined the analyst couch to discuss their victory with Janko "YNk" Paunović, Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill and Tres "stunna" Saranthus.

Boys here's the question, and i get one of these a day, what the f*ck was that game. The end of that was wild, there were so many rounds that neither team should be winning, you must be losing your mind?

T.c: 100%. We just always seem to have the craziest game against Imperial, I mean we had it at the RMR for Rio and now again it's insane.

So JT, do you boys want to give him any props at this point...?

T.c: My god. JT's calling on our T side, the 1v4, the 2v5...

floppy: Oh my god the 1v4, JT's 1v4 bro that was crazy

That was to take you to double overtime right, and when you are lookign at your IGL in that situation floppy what are you thinking?

floppy: I mean it's about damn time we showed up this event.

You see how I prepped ready to talk to you guys about your revenge, does it feel sweet?

T.c: It does feel good, it does feel good I think it would have been nicer to get it at the RMR...

floppy: ...Yeah I think I would have preferred the RMR, I would of traded that instantly but (laughs)

T.c: The RMR or last place at Pro League I would trade that too.

floppy: Well we don't want to turn into EG right, going last place here soo...

I was wondering for you guys it seems the problem for you at this tournament, is you play stretches of good CS and then it doesn't look so good for a time. How do you find a bit more consistency, even within a map?

T.c: Yeah i mean, at this tournament so far we have been very, very inconsistent. Like even the contrast between map one and map two, it's like we are playing with a lack of confidence a lot of the time in a lot of these rounds. When we are playing like that it doesn't suit our style, I think we can agree we play a lot better when we are aggressive and controlling the pace of the round. Another big problem we have is just our communication overall, it's like when our communication falls off with the way we play it makes it really difficult...

Is that because of tilt though, is it because of players losing focus in the game and their comms dropping. It's one of those things right, if every player isn't at 100% you are going to feel it. We have all felt that in teams, is that what it is?

T.c: What do you think Ricky, as one of the players (laughs) what do you think man..?

floppy: I think that is a strong possibility of what could happen... I just think we need to show some balls, ya know, we just need to show our nuts to the enemy no matter who it is.

All things considered there was a bit of a bounce back there, especially after map one. We've gotta ask wha...

floppy: First map? what was the first map?

T.c It was Ancient, we won 16-14 (laughs)...

floppy: Yeah we played two BO1's today...

I heard you walking out as we were coming in and you said I'm just focusing on the positives man, like you were talking to your teammates

T.c: We were trying to find the positives me and Ricky (laughs)...

floppy: Losing 16-1 is funny, that's funny right?

It's better than a 16-0 I'll tell you that

floppy: Oh thank god. (laughs)

So the Complexity way, bouncing all the way back from an elimination game to making it through, or what are you thinking floppy?

floppy: I mean we definitely consider that, I mean he brought it up this morning or maybe yesterday but I don't know about that.

T.c: I mean that is when we play our best CS right with our backs against the wall. In the lower bracket of the lower bracket, so you know.

So what do you guys take away from today, I know there is a lot to unpack still?

T.c: I think it's just nice for us to see that we can actually... I mean we didn't play badly in the BIG game we definitely lost that game ourselves, all the advantageous situations we threw away. I think maybe we lost some confidence with that, so it's just nice to get some confidence back in the team. We had lots of rounds here where we could have lost it as well, just bringing it back in those like 2v5's 1v4's just giving us some confidence back in those clutches again. So hopefully we can build on this and keep...

floppy: We are back, it's that easy we are back.

T.c: That's how it works you win one game and you are back (laughs).

Complexity will face off against BIG tommorow in a rematch for a spot in the fourth place decider match and a chance at playoffs.
