Nouns cut IGL after two months
In a surprise move, Dust2.us has confirmed with Bobby "stamina" Eitrem that he has been cut from Nouns effective February 1st. The move sees the top NA squad part ways with their IGL and AWPer after less than two months and brings more upheaval to the squad after being signed by Nouns in mid-September.
stamina's removal from Nouns sees the skipper depart his ship after a likely disappointing amount of time at the helm, having only taken over IGL duties from David "cynic" Polster at the start of 2023. While Nouns have maintained their position as one of NA's best domestic teams heading into February, January was filled with a number of losses for the team as they failed to qualify to ESL Pro League Season 17 due to dual losses to MIBR. Additionally, Nouns also missed out on making the IEM Brazil Closed Qualifier in the first open qualifier due to a upset loss to Vendetta.
Regarding his sudden removal from Nouns, stamina declined to go into detail while his former teammates did not respond to requests for comment. Dust2.us is aware that Nouns have been scrimming with Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado as a potential replacement for stamina. MarKE was recently spotted playing with Nouns in the second ESEA Winter Cash Cup, albeit in place of Brendan "Bwills" Williams due to a family emergency. Should MarKE join Nouns, it would be the Mexican pro's first team since Extra Salt were snatched up by Complexity at the start of 2022.
With stamina out of the roster, Nouns are now:
-
David "cynic" Polster
-
Brendan "Bwills" Williams
-
Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly
-
Christopher "cJ" Jones
-
Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen (Coach)
Nouns will need to settle their affairs quickly, as the second IEM Brazil qualifier is on February 11th and Nouns seem set to claim an invite to the BLAST.tv Paris Major North America RMR Closed Qualifier.
