EG Black advance after player sleeps through match
Evil Geniuses Black have advanced in the upper bracket of ESL Challenger Season 43 playoffs due to a ridiculous set of circumstances. EG Black were set to face off against Vendetta tonight at 09:30PM, and four of five players answered the call to stare down the undefeated squad. However, a notable name was missing as Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney was nowhere to be seen, leading to Vendetta forfeiting the match.
Dust2.us has confirmed with sources in the team that CLASIA slept through the match, costing the squad greatly in their second season of ECL, with even his teammates hinting at the action. This embarrassing blunder for the young player beckons back to last year when former Triumph player Jack "xCeeD" Holiman slept through his team's match against Evil Geniuses, stifling the team's chances of qualifying to the PGL Stockholm Major despite their good chances against a floundering EG Squad.
For CLASIA personally, while a missed alarm isn't the most damning of circumstances, it is another unprofessional incident affecting the young star. He previously found himself cut shortly after joining EG Black due to unprofessional conduct while previously coming under fire for poor behavior while at RBG.
Vendetta now find themselves with the difficult task of battling through the lower bracket. Their first match in their quest for redemption will be against Iron Blood tomorrow at 08:00PM.
