Davenport continue dominant S43 ADV playoff run
The final four has been decided, meaning all that is left to decide is the second grand finalist to face Davenport University for a direct invite to ESL Challenger League Season 44 and who is going through to Relegation.
#1 Davenport 2-0 #3 Limitless
Davenport continue to prove they are in a league of their own in these playoffs as they look head and shoulders above every other competing team in terms of form. They showed that form once against Limitless last night, trouncing them on their Overpass pick. It was closer on DU’s Nuke pick, but was still never out of their control as they took the 2-0 with ease to clinch a grand finals seat.
#2 Eros 2-1 #14 EX CINCERE
EX CINCERE looked to take the upset after taking their Nuke pick 16-9, but Eros had no plans to exit the playoffs early. The #2 seed grinded out EX CINCERE two times over on Vertigo and Inferno 16-14 to reverse sweep the series and win 2-1. The loss in the lower-bracket means elimination for EX CINCERE.
#5 1WIN 2-0 #6 REIGN
The two teams needed overtime to decide a winner on REIGN’s home pick of Ancient. Seven of nine rounds for 1WIN sent us to overtime, and it was 1WIN who survived the extra rounds, 19-17. When they moved to Mirage, REIGN had nothing left in the tank. 1WIN ran all over them 16-7 to secure the 2-0 series win, eliminating REIGN.
Upcoming Matches
Four teams left means the survivors are no longer competing for tournament life, but for the sole invite to ECL S44. As it stands, Davenport is one half of the grand finals, with the other three teams competing in the lower bracket to determine the second grand finalist. The first series between the three lower bracket teams takes place tonight, starting at 9:30PM EST
