FalleN will not be heading home just yet

Imperial are the oNes left standing

With one Brazilian team going home regardless, it was down to the residence of the squads to differentiate them.

Imperial vs oNe was a long and gruelling match today, with Imperial closing the series out 2-1 in the end on a almost-full eco buy of all things. They are now 2-2 in the swiss system, whereas oNe are eliminated and will be headed home.

Kicking off the first map of Mirage, oNe's pick, things didn't seem to be going exactly as planned for the North American residents. Despite winning T-side the pistol with three kills from Victor "iDk" Torraca, oNe were unable to convert the following round. Claiming the second round by timer expiration, Imperial took an early lead with a four-round streak.

oNe were able to secure a further four bomb plants, three of which were taken to detonation, in the following rounds. However, Imperial would not allow any more explosions on their CT-side watch, defusing three further plants and taking an elimination round win too. With the score sitting at 9:4 for Imperial, oNe secured the final two rounds of the half also by enemy elimination for a 6:9 half.

Opening their CT-side on the second half, oNe secured themselves two more round wins but on the bonus round only Alencar "trk" Rossato found kills and their good-looking open to the half fell short. Imperial's shutdown of oNe lasted four rounds, taking them up to 13:8, before oNe finally found another round to put on their CT-side.

A further bomb defusal and time rundown by oNe saw them up to 11:13, however, the 26th round saw a two-kill opening by Fernando "fer" Alvarenga to put Imperial ever-so-closer to the map win. Another three kills by Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo in the next and Imperial were on map-point. Despite being on a force-buy, a B site duel fight saw oNe staying in the game for at least one more round.

After a plant on the B site from Imperial, a 3v3 retake fell to 2v3 after a fer lurk and wraparound took out one of the retakers, and it was too much for the remaining two oNe players to handle. Imperial closed out oNe's map pick 16:12 and moved onto their own of Inferno.

This time starting on the CT-side, oNe were able to take the first two rounds rather than just one. Nonetheless, Imperial seemed to still be fired up from the first map and dominated the next five rounds, setting an early 5:2 lead for themselves. Switching to an elongated back-and-forth round spread, oNe were then able to secure themselves six rounds in a row. Sitting at 8:5 for oNe, the winning pass moved back to Imperial who took the final two, ending the half 7:8.

Not looking for any funny business, oNe continued their pistol round conversion improvements, this time taking three on their T-side. Looking to tie up the series, oNe took another three rounds after that but not before dropping one round to Imperial first. Now sitting at a 14:8 deficit, Imperial kicked it back into sixth gear and won all but one of the remaining rounds, tying everything up at 15:15.

Continuing on the T-side, oNe decided it was definitely time to close out the map and stop Imperial in their tracks. Claiming all three rounds, they were now 18:15 up and only required one more round to sent it to the decider map of Overpass. One round is all they needed, and one round if exactly what they got, but not before a monster clutch by Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo to give Imperial at least one OT round. Ending 19:16 in favor of oNe, the series moved to the third and final deciding map.

Starting on the CT-side again, Imperial were able to lose the first three rounds to oNe and then claim the next three for themselves. Allowing oNe to win a fourth, Imperial then went on a six round win-streak, setting the scoreline to 9:4. Taking the final two rounds of the half, oNe ended the half with six to their name compared with Imperial's nine.

Moving into the final half of the series, Imperial decided it was finally time to take everything with 200% seriousness. Only allowing oNe three individually spaced rounds, Imperial moved up to map and match point at 15:9. oNe did manage to clinch two rounds and reset Imperial's economy. However, FalleN's team said no more and sent oNe packing with an eco-buy round-win to close out the series.
