FURIA face early struggles
FURIA's first matchup did not go to plan as they fall 0-2 to Astralis in their opening Cologne matchup. This result sees the Brazilians now set to take on Outsiders on Saturday at 06:30AM.
The BO3 began on Astralis' pick of Nuke with the Danes coming out ahead in the opening skirmish to a dominant 10-5 lead on their T-side thanks to a strong performance from Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke. After switching sides, it was just more of the same for FURIA as they were unable to get anything going. Despite winning the pistol, FURIA were unable to convert the subsequent rounds and quickly fell further down the hole. Astralis were able to close out their map pick 16-8 and started preparing for Mirage next.
The two teams then paid a visit to FURIA's turf where things quickly began to go in the Brazilians favor. With each side evenly battling it out, it looked promising for the Americas representatives as they secured seven rounds on their T-side. Heading With the advtantage just ever so slightly in Astralis' favor, it looked like FURIA would be able to close it out now that the Brazilians were on the favored CT-side. However, Astralis won the opening pistol and from there it looked like it was Denmark all the way. FURIA attempted to mount a late comeback, but were stifled and lost their map pick 16-13.
