Favorites go 1-0 after day one of ECS Season 7 Pinnacle Cup
Day one of the ECS Season 7 Pinnacle Cup concluded yesterday, with 16 teams facing off to see who will join North America's top teams in the revamped ECS league. The 16 teams are competing in a best-of-three Swiss system to determine elegibility for the revamped regular season.
The first matchup of the day saw MASSIVEimpact overwhelmed by Party Astronauts. Utilizing the services of Connor "CONNOR93" Glover in place of the recently departed Shawn "witmer" Taylor, MASSIVEimpact seemed unable to gain their footing as they dropped Nuke and Overpass 16-5 and 16-4, respectively. The team will look to regroup as they take on Old Guys Club today.

The match between Mythic and Singularity saw yet another stand-in as James "hazed" Cobb was unable to play due to an ear issue.
As such, Mythic enlisted the services of Ian "Tex" Botsch who has been teamless since Season 28 when he played with Monstars. This matchup ended up being one of the closer series of day one, as after Singularity took Inferno 16-5, Mythic were able to respond by narrowly taking Overpass 16-12. In the end though, Singularity would ultimately claim victory confidently closing out Dust2 16-7.
Mythic will to improve on their day one results when they take on Zone later today. Round two will once again see Mythic play with another stand-in as both hazed and Tex are unavailable. Therefore, they have enlisted the services of ex-Vireo.pro player Donovan "zNf" Froid.
