The smoke criminal claimed the award for best overall player

FACEIT announce 2018 FPL award winners

Stewie2K, food, ptr, wippie, and Cooper- have all received awards voted on by their fellow FPL players.

The complete list of player's choice awards for the 2018 FPL circuit have been released with five players claiming the top spot in the six available categories. Ranging from best overall player to best upcoming player, these awards were voted on by the players within the FPL circuit and serve as a sort of shout-out for the most active players within FPL.

The first award of the week was given to Austin "Cooper-" Abadir who claimed the award for "Best Team Player." 2018 had been something of a whirlwind year for the younger brother of Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir as Cooper- came unto his own after a strong year topped off by being signed by eUnited in November. Having only played his first LAN at the start of 2017, the rising star beat veteran players Peter "ptr" Gurney and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan to take the award.

The next award for "Most Upcoming Player" went to Russian import Maxim "wippie" Shepelev. wippie is most known for recently qualifying for FPL, however the player also recently made his MDL debut with Infamous where he boasted a 2.16 rating against Forty Six and 2. The runners-up in this category were Cooper- and Victor "food" Wong.

ptr was the winner of the third award: "Best FPL IGL." ptr is a veteran in both CS:GO and the FPL circuit having played in the circuit before its 2018 relaunch. Additionally, over the course of his long career, ptr has played for some of the largest names in the scene including Dignitas, compLexity, and NRG. This category seemed to favor veteran players as longtime in-game leader Pujan "FNS" Mehta and streamer Jason "JasonR" Ruchelski were the runners-up for the award.

The next two awards went to the same player as food claimed the title of "Most Improved Player" and "Breakout Player" for 2018. food had a breakout year by claiming first place at the WESG 2018 USA LAN, along with semi-finals appearances at the ESEA Season 29: Global Challenge and the NSG Eastern Conference Championship. The quartet of runners-up for these categories included Sam "s0m" Oh, Owen "oBo" Schlatter, Anthony” vanity" Malaspina and Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro.

The final award, "Best Player", went to none other than Jake "Stewie2K" Yip. Known for his flashy and agressive playstyle, the "smoke criminal" won the award by beating out food and Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado.
