MDL Week 7 Recap - FURIA unleashes their fury
The seventh week of ESEA MDL Season 30 has concluded, with 27 matches taking place. The week also saw FURIA play their first matches in the league after returning from their IEM Katowice Major run, putting up a flawless 4-0 record by dominating a number of the league's juggernauts, including Denial, Spacestation, and Party Astronauts.
The only team to give FURIA trouble was Singularity, who spent the week bootcamping as they look to fight their way through the upcoming ECS Season 7 Pinnacle Cup. That bootcamp saw the team immensely improve upon their recent results, dropping just two maps out of the seven they played to move their way to the top of the standings. A 4-16 defeat by the hands of Denial and narrow 15-19 overtime loss to FURIA were their only two losses this week as the team end their Season 30 run with an 11-6 record.
This week also saw the demise of two rosters, with both Fragging for Andy and Stay Frosty forfeiting their remaining matches in the season. All teams that had yet to play either of the rosters received forfeit wins, giving FURIA an even better overall record as they move into ninth with a 6-0 start to the league.
Party Astronauts fared far worse this week than the last, falling to FURIA, Bad News Bears, MASSIVEimpact, Singularity, and most surprisingly, Forty Six and 2. The new-look MASSIVEimpact ensured that Forty Six and 2 didn't end their week on a high note however, with Marian "tyfoon" Lesnic dominating Adrian "Gonnak" Arguello's side 16-0 on Cache.
