Yuji: "I was treated like a nobody"

The player is headed back to Brazil after a short stint in the US.

Yesterday W7M Gaming announced the signing of the BootKamp Gaming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad — including Lucas "Yuji" Yuji, who had recently departed the team to join Tempo Storm's Brazilian team in place of Bruno "shz" Martinelli.

Yuji played only one official with Tempo Storm, a 2-1 loss to GX in the DreamHack Winter Closed Qualifier in which he landed at the bottom of the scoreboard on all three maps. Now, with the team reportedly looking to bring back shz along with João "horvy" Horvath, he found himself excluded from the composition.

In a post on TwitLonger that was translated by HLTV.org, the player talked about what the initial plan was when he agreed to join Tempo Storm, and commented on the apparent change in direction. Here is the full translated text:

"I arrived at the gaming house on the 10th, I played in the qualifier and everything was normal," he wrote. "The plan was for us to practice until December, go on vacation and return in January fully focused to try to secure promotion to the main leagues.

"However, four or five days after my arrival, Tempo Storm decided some things with the senior players of the team, and, sadly, I was not part of the organisation's plans.

"The things that will happen are for the best for the guys who will stay on, they had no idea that this was happening and they were also caught by surprise.

"What really disappointed me was the way the organisation treated me. They did not approach me to announce me, they never officially told me what was going to happen.

"I was treated like a nobody, I did not even have the chance to sign a contract. I expected more from an organisation that, in my eyes, is really big in North America and has been represented by many Brazilian players."

W7M Gaming now have the following roster:

  • Brazil Rafael "raafa" Lima
  • Brazil Lucas "luk" Soares
  • Brazil Leon "ryotzz" Felipe
  • Brazil Thiago "tifa" França
  • Brazil Lucas "Yuji" Yuji

Yuji will likely not be the only player who will experience a brief stay in America, as the reported moves by Tempo Storm would also see Ricardo "s1" Shinji left out in the cold.
