OpTic take out Misfits to secure final iBUYPOWER Masters semi-final spot
The final deciding match was to be between Misfits and the Europeans of OpTic Gaming, with the winner heading up against Renegades in the semi-finals.
With the game starting on Overpass, it was OpTic to kick the rounds off on their CT side. Misfits instantly replied on the second round, with a superb 1v2 to finish off an ace from Hunter "SicK" Mims to instantly level the match up. Misfits then pushed on to take a 5-1 lead before Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas and Emil "Magisk" Reif combine to halt Misfits initial run.
The rabbit-men were not to be immediately halted however, as two rounds were picked up in quick succession before the Green Wall started a run on rounds, picking up five straight rounds, helped along by an Adam "friberg" Friberg four-kill round, to tie the game out, before taking an 8-7 lead at the half.
With Misfits now taking the lead on the CT side, they saw themselves pick up the pistol round before a bunch of SMGs take the following two rounds for Misfits as they regain their lead. OpTic then kicked off a run of seven straight rounds to take them to match point, before a Emil "Magisk" Reif 1v2 clutch to finish off a four-kill round secured the Green Wall a 16-10 win.
