Ghost, oNe, Gorilla Gang, and Bravado to Toyota Masters qualifier semifinals
The second round in the Toyota Masters qualifier has come to a close, with only two matches being played due to the other two falling to forfeit-wins.
Getting those two out of the way first, eUnited were forced to forfeit their match against oNe, likely due to the team currently being at the MSI MGA Finals in New York. On the other end of the bracket, the mix ReloadFocus forfeited against Ghost as well, as the team did not show up at all.
Moving over to matches that were actually played, AZIO took on Gorilla Gang on Nuke, with AZIO kicking off the map on the CT-side. Despite the inherent advantages of the CT-side and an outstanding performance from Ryan "Snakes" Amann, AZIO were unable to find a lead in the first half, ultimately taking a 7-8 scoreline at halftime.
In the second half, Ryan 'ryan' Welsh's gang handily took control of the map, closing Nuke 16-11 and eliminating AZIO from the qualifier.
The last match to wrap up in the second round was Bravado taking on FURIA on Train. FURIA started the map with the early lead, going 9-1 on the CT-side before Bravado were finally able to claw back some rounds, closing the gap for a 10-5 scoreline at halftime.
In the second half, spearheaded by Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek, Bravado took the match to a full 30 rounds, just barely avoiding overtime and usurping the map from FURIA 16-14, eliminating the Brazilian team from the qualifier.
The Toyota Masters qualifier bracket moves onto the semifinals, with only three matches remaining until one team is chosen to fly to Bangkok for the main event. The remaining matchups will see former MDL champions Bravado taking on the Pro League team Ghost, while the other end will see the Brazilian oNe take on ryan's Gorilla Gang.
