Rogue look to add kRYSTAL
The coach of Rogue, Matthew "mCe" Elmore, has revealed on stream that the team have picked up Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend as their fifth player and in-game leader, filling the slot recently vacated by Casper "cadiaN" Møller after his departure to North. Although the clip and VOD were both deleted, an archived version can be found here.
mCe went on to reveal that the team were deliberating between adding kRYSTAL and Pujan "FNS" Mehta, eventually settling on the German player after a vote. FNS has been without a team since the end of May when he was benched by Cloud9, and Dust2.us knows that he had been scrimming with Rogue while being considered.
kRYSTAL's tenure on Ghost saw the team conquer OpTic in the ZOTAC Cup Masters quarterfinals before going on to best Na`Vi in overtime in their opening match at DreamHack Masters Stockholm. Although they were eliminated in two reverse sweep series against Na`Vi and NiP shortly after, the breakout performance of Matthew "Wardell" Bowman drew interest from many.
With kRYSTAL's trial on Ghost coming to an end, the 25-year-old released a Twitlonger explaining his frustrations and efforts over the year, culminating with not making the cut on Ghost. After annoucing that he was highly motivated and on the hunt for a team, Rogue reached out to the player and began discussions, eventually settling on kRYSTAL.
With their new addition, Rogue's roster is:
- Daniel "vice" Kim
- Spencer "Hiko" Martin
- Hunter "SicK" Mims
- Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland
- Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend
- Matthew "mCe" Elmore (coach)
Rogue are set to compete in the upcoming ECS and ESL Pro League seasons, with their first match kicking off for EPL on Tuesday against Luminosity at 8:25 PM EDT.
