Texas Rangers acquire OpTic
The MLB Rangers co-owner Neil Leibman and co-investor Chris Chaney have purchased a majority stake in OpTic Gaming, Ben Fischer of SportsBusiness Journal and Daily announced on Twitter. The full report by Fischer details the acquisition by stating that Leibman has created a holding company called Infinite Esports & Entertainment, which will contain OpTic, its League of Legends team, the Overwatch League brand Houston Outlaws, along with other esports ventures he plans on creating.
Along with the acquisition, all of the Infinite companies and brands will relocate to Dallas, Texas, which was already in the news as compLexity, who were recently purchased by Jerry Jones and John Goff, also plan on building facilities in the city.
Former owner of OpTic, Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez says that he remains CEO and "co-owner" of the organization, and that things are changing for the better.
